Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide base paper for a fruit bag having excellent paper strengthening effects with a small amount of a paper strengthening agent and/or a wet paper strengthening agent to be added and further excellent wax processability and water-repellent processability. SOLUTION: This base paper for the fruit bag consists essentially of a wood pulp and is obtained by adding carboxymethyl cellulose having 0.3-0.6 degree of substitution in an amount of 0.01-3.0 wt.% based on the bone-dry weight of the wood pulp. Furthermore, the amount of the paper strengthening agent and/or wet paper strengthening agent to be added is 0.01-2.0 wt.% based on the bone-dry weight of the wood pulp.
