Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure casting method with which the low pressure casting of an aluminum or an aluminum alloy can be performed without generating a defect caused by hydrogen gas and wasting inert gas. SOLUTION: While performing a degassing treatment by blowing the inert gas into a molten metal holding furnace 1, the hydrogen gas amount in the molten metal holding furnace is continuously measured. In the case this hydrogen gas amount is not higher than a permissible value, the blowing of the inert gas is suspended, and in the case this gas amount exceeds the permissible value, the blowing of the inert gas is started.
