Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermo-electric conversion element which has excellent performance and can reduce the voltage and also provide an optical communication module which utilizes the same element. SOLUTION: This thermo-electric conversion element uses two sheets of insulated substrates 7, 11 including circuit forming electrodes 8, 9 at one surface and solder wettable surface at the opposite surface and couples many semiconductor chips 12 in parallel using solder on the circuit forming electrode of insulated substrates 7, 11. In this thermo-electric conversion element, the solder B used on the circuit forming electrode is different in composition from the solder A, C used for the solder wettable surface of the insulated substrate and moreover both kinds of solder do not include load.
