SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING TRAVEL INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus location system for presenting highly precise, detailed information to a user. SOLUTION: The bus location system is provided with an on-vehicle device 1 mounted on a bus, a bus stop device 2 having a display device and a center device 3 having a communication function with the on-vehicle device 1 and the bus stop device 2. The on-vehicle device 1 is provided with a positioning device and calculates the present position of the bus on the basis of positional information measured with the positioning device. The center device 3 compares the present bus position calculated with the on-vehicle device 1 with the positional information of bus stops on a bus traveling route and judges the bus stop where the bus arrives next. The bus stop device 2 is constituted to perform displaying on the display device on the basis of information which is received from the center device 3. The position of the bus is specified with high precision through the use of the positioning device such as a GPS which is used in navigation so that highly precise, detailed information, such as a correct arrival prediction time to the bus stop and the display of the bus position with a map, etc., is provided to a bus user.
