MEMORY CONTROLLER, FLASH MEMORY SYSTEM WITH MEMORY CONTROLLER AND FLASH MEMORY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory controller that can perform a series of data write processing for a flash memory at faster speed. SOLUTION: The memory controller has a means for classifying a plurality of physical blocks into a plurality of zones, a means for classifying a plurality of the physical blocks included in respective zones into a plurality of groups, a means that virtually joins a plurality of the physical blocks belonging to mutually different groups to form a plurality of virtual blocks, and a means for allocating adjoining host addresses, in the virtual block, to mutually different physical blocks. The allocating means has a first conversion means for converting a logical block space into a virtual block space, a second conversion means for converting the virtual block space into a physical address space, and a third conversion means for converting the physical address space into a physical block space.
