Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a material for forming a radiation image which have high detection quantum efficiency. SOLUTION: In this method for forming a radiation image, a radiation image conversion panel which consists of a radiation absorption phosphor layer that absorbs radiation and emits light from ultraviolet rays to visible range and a storage phosphor layer that absorbs the emitted light, stores the energy of it and emits the energy as emitted light by the excitation of the light from visible range to infrared rays and a fluorescent screen that has a radiation absorption phosphor layer are used, the panel is brought into intimate contact with the screen, the panel and the screen is irradiated with the radiation that can pass through a specimen and the spatial energy distribution of radiation is recorded as a latent image on the panel. Thereafter, excitation light is applied to photoelectrically read out the light emitted from the latent image and it is converted into an image signal. Then, an image corresponding to the spatial energy distribution of radiation is reconfigured.
