Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial adjusting device designed to store pulse generated when braking a rotation body, by a method without damage. SOLUTION: This axial adjusting device comprises two disks 24, 29 relatively rotatable and relatively coaxially supported. Balls 35 are guided in plural pairs of ball grooves 34, 39 between the disks 24, 29, and the depth of plural pairs of ball grooves 34, 39 is variable across the peripheral parts of the disks 24, 29. One of the disks 24, 29 is axially supported and axially movable against the return force of an elastic spring means 33. At least one of the disks is built in a housing wall 52, and its motor shaft 12 can be driven by a motor 11 connected to a drive pinion. The drive pinion comprises a journal projection 16 traveling in a bearing 17 supported inside the housing wall 52.
