Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an installation for producing a polycarbonate that can stably produce the polycarbonate of high quality for a long period of time as the installation is prevented from being contaminated, and provide a method and an installation that can simplify a vacuum generator and a by- product collector in the polycarbonate production with economical advantage. SOLUTION: In the production of the polycarbonate in which a dihydroxy compound and a carbonic diester are subjected to a transesterification reaction in the presence or absence of a catalyst, the vapor of substances mainly comprising a monohydroxy compound and/or a carbonic diester is fed between one or more reactors for the transesterification reaction and an exhauster for sucking out the gas in the reactors.
