PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a crystal of an aminoketone useful as an intermediate for medicines and the like, represented by the general formula (2) (wherein, X , X , X , and X are each the same or different and H, a halogen atom, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, or hydroxy; X and X may form phthaloyl together; X is H or hydroxy.). SOLUTION: In this method for producing a crystalline aminoketone represented by the general formula (2), an aminoketone acid-salt represented by the general formula (1) (wherein, X , X , X , X , and X are the same as those mentioned above) is allowed to react with a base in the presence of a hydrophilic organic solvent.
