Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer having a high thermal efficiency in which an article being dried can be dried with no thermal denaturation while suppressing variation in the water content of the article being dried. SOLUTION: The dryer for drying a cake while moving it in the circumferential direction comprises a flat tubular dryer body, and means for feeding a cake wherein the flat tubular dryer body is installed such that the circular sidewall is set in the vertical or horizontal direction, an exhaust opening is made in the center of one sidewall and a hot air supply nozzle is inserted in parallel with the circumferential direction from the outer circumferential part of the dryer body.
