FLOATING SEAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hardly cause seizure and abnormal wear of a slide seal surface. SOLUTION: A pair of seal rings 12 where flanges 13 are situated at respective ends 12a and slide seal surfaces 14 are situated on the end faces of the ends 12a are situated opposite to each other in the direction of the rotary axis of a hub in a way that the slide seal surfaces 14 are peripherally slidably brought into contact with each other between a support ring 4a of the hub being a rotation part and a support flange 6a of a shaft being a fixed part. A support surface 18 pointing to the other end 12b of the seal ring 12 is formed at a flange 13 of the seal ring 12. Elastic seal members 19 approximately in the shapes of annulus rings to seal a gap there between and press the seal rings 12 against each other through its elastic force are nipped between the support surface 18 and the support ring 4a, and the support surface 18 and the support flange 6a. In the seal ring 12, the slide seal surface 14 is situated and a support surface 21 exposed to an external part is formed on an end face, where the slide seal surface 14 is situated, and on the outer peripheral side than the slide seal surface 14.
