Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water storage type water heating appliance which is excellent in appearance after installation and can effectively use a space below a lavatory as a containing space, in the hot water storage type water heating appliance installed at a dressing table and the like. SOLUTION: Since an expansion water discharge device 13 is situated in the internal part of a casing 7 of the water heating appliance 1, the expansion water discharge device 13 is not exposed to the outside after installation so that the appearance is excellent, and the space below the lavatory can be effectively used as a containing space. Further, when leakage of water is detected by a water leakage detecting means 16 due to leakage of water occurring in the casing 7, a motor-operated valve 8 is closed to shut-off feed water, a feed of heat to an electric heater 10 is shut-off by a relay 11, and warning is set out by a warning device 17 to prevent spreading of damage.
