CHEMICAL MILLING OF GAS TURBINE ENGINE BRISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical milling method for changing the chord length (46) and/or the thickness (50) of at least one blade (18) in a gas turbine engine brisk (10) having a hub (14) and a plurality of metal blades (18). SOLUTION: At least one blade (18) of the brisk (10) is treated...

Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical milling method for changing the chord length (46) and/or the thickness (50) of at least one blade (18) in a gas turbine engine brisk (10) having a hub (14) and a plurality of metal blades (18). SOLUTION: At least one blade (18) of the brisk (10) is treated for a long time sufficiently for changing the chord length (46) and/or the thickness (50) of the blades (18) by a chemical etching agent for the metal forming the blades (18). In the preferable embodiment of this method, at least one blade (18) of the brisk (10) with its rotational balance lost is treated for a long time sufficiently for changing the chord length (46) and/or the thickness (50) of the blades (18) so that the rotational balance of the brisk (10) can be obtained.
