METHOD OF ANALYZING DEFECTIVENESS OF MAGNETIC RECORDING DISK AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of analyzing the defectiveness of the foreign matter or fault, floating error or data reading and writing error on a magnetic recording disk and a method of manufacturing thereof. SOLUTION: The first foreign matter coordinate data 1 and second foreign matter coordinate data 2 of the same circular shape formed by mapping the foreign matter coordinates on the magnetic recording disk are separately acquired with the magnetic recording disk having no cut-outs for positioning, such as the orientation flat and notch like those of a silicon wafer. The origin 10 of the foreign matter coordinates of the first foreign matter coordinate data 1 and the origin 20 of the foreign matter coordinates of the second foreign matter coordinate data 2 are so positioned as to be aligned. Either of the foreign matter coordinates of the first foreign matter coordinate data 1 or the foreign matter coordinates of the second foreign matter coordinate data 2 are rotated at an arbitrary angle θ around the origin. The foreign matter coordinates of the first foreign matter coordinate data 1 and the foreign matter coordinates of the second foreign matter coordinate data 2 are compared.
