Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of an engine by preventing the wear of a retainer for retaining an automobile fuel valve or an automobile exhaust valve to the face of a coil spring. SOLUTION: In the retainer for retaining an automobile fuel valve or an automobile exhaust valve to the face of a coil spring, the face abutting on the spring of the retainer, a diamondlike carbon film containing H or a diamondlike carbon film containing H, Si and O is formed directly, or via; (a) an intermediate layer of silicide or silicocarbide essentially consisting of at least one kind selected from the group 5A metals (V, Nb, Ta), the group 6A metals (Cr, Mo, W), Ti and Zr; or (b) a metallic film essentially consisting of at least one kind selected from the group 5A metals (V, Nb, Ta), and an Si film or a metallic film essentially consisting of Si, and formed thereon; or (c) a metallic film of at least one kind selected from the group 5A metals (V, Nb, Ta), the group 6A metals (Cr, Mo, W), Ti and Zr, and a silicon, carbide film formed thereon.
