Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a such a medicine as suppressing production promotion of collagen, so suppressing overexpression of type I collagen gene and useful for preventing and treating diseases caused by excess-accumulation of extracellular matrices. SOLUTION: This preventive for collagen accumulation is characterized in that the preventive contains a DNA binding protein having one of amino acid sequences refer to the epecifi cation as the active ingredient and the active ingredient is formulated in a pharmaceutically permissible carrier. (a) An amino acid sequence represented by a sequence number 1 (refer to the specification), (b) an amino acid sequence eliminated from, added to or substituted for one or a plurality of amino acids thereof and having ability of suppressing transcript of the type I collagen gene, (c) an amino acid sequence of a protein, having >=80% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence represented by the sequence number 1 and having ability of suppressing transcript of the type, I collagen gene, and the like.
