Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric-power converter which can cope with unbalance failure by changing characteristic of filters for extracting negative-phase-sequence voltage in steady operation and in the system failure, and the electric power converter. SOLUTION: The control device for the electric-power converter is provided with a three- phase two-phase converter 11 which converts three-phase AC voltage of the electric-power converter to two-phase voltage; a positive-phase-sequence-component extracting device 13 which extracts positive-phase-sequence component from the two-phase voltage; a negative- phase-sequence-component extracting device 14, which has first and second negative-phase- sequence-component extracting filters having respectively different extraction capabilities, extracts negative-phase-sequence component from the two-phase voltage using the first negative-phase-sequence-component extracting filter in steady operation, and extracts the negative-phase-sequence component from the two-phase voltage using the second negative- phase-sequence-component extracting filter in transient operation; and a control-signal generating device 15 which generates a control signal, based on the positive-phase-sequence component extracted by the positive-phase-sequence-component extracting device 13 and the negative- phase-sequence component extracted by the negative-phase-sequence-component extracting device 14.
