PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten working hours and improve quality by improving efficiency of manual data input and data confirming operation in transferring data in an existing database to a new database. SOLUTION: The present invention is a database maintenance device which maintains and manages a database. It has a means to extract an existing data managing key only from an existing database 3 and output it to a database 5 corresponding to key information, read all data in the existing database separately and convert the existing data managing key of them to a preset new data managing key, convert a field configuration of the existing database 3 to that of a new database 9 referring to a file 6 corresponding to a field separately established, and in accordance with the field configuration, write data of the existing database 3 to the new database 9 and create the new database 9.
