Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjusting material in smelting iron and steel, which leads to expansion of use for a metal matrix ceramic composite (MMC) member and effective recycling of the MMC scrap, and to provide a method for recycling MMC scrap. SOLUTION: The adjusting material in smelting iron and steel is characterized by including MMC scrap which has aluminum or aluminum alloy as a matrix, preferably being scrap of a brake rotor or the rotor shavings, and preferably being a deoxidation material and/or a slag-making material. The method for reusing the MMC scrap is characterized by crushing the MMC scrap through a crushing process consisting of primary crush and secondary crush, and using crushed coarse materials after secondary crush as a deoxidation material for steel making, and particulate parts as a slag-making material for steel making after granulating them.
