Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new secretory biofunctional regulating protein and its DNA. SOLUTION: 1. The polypeptide (A chain) comprises an amino acid sequence identical or substantially identical to an amino acid sequence represented by a specific sequence. 2. The polypeptide (B chain) comprises an amino acid sequence identical or substantially identical to an amino acid sequence represented by the specific sequence. 3. The polypeptide (double strand) in which the A chain and B chain are bound through disulfide bonds or its salt. 4. DNAs, or the like, encode the polypeptides. Thereby, the polypeptides or DNAs encoding the polypeptides can be used for, e.g. regulating metabolism (sugar metabolism, lipid metabolism, or the like), of energy sources such as carbohydrates, diagnosis, treatment, prophylaxis, or the like, of diseases such as an abnormality (e.g. diabetes).
