Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit for silent discharge capable of suppressing noise and loss at turning off a switching device. SOLUTION: This power supply unit includes a power supply 2 for supplying direct current; a silent discharge electrode 3; a transformer 5 whose power supply 2 is connected to a primary coil 6, the silent discharge electrode 3 is connected to a secondary coil 4 with a choking coil 10; a switching device 7 which controls power supply with the power supply 2 to the primary coil 6; a detection means which detects the current of the primary coil 6; and a control circuit 9 which detects a changing rate of the current detected by the detection means and which performs the off-control of the switching device 7.
