SOLUTION: In this shift lever device 10, when the shift lever 20 is located at the shift position other than a predetermined shift position, a turning part 38 is not turned in the counter-select direction with respect to a base part 36, and the clutch 34 is engaged with the shift lever 20. When the shift lever 20 is turned in the select direction from the predetermined shift position, the turning part 38 is turned in the counter-select direction with respect to the base part 36, and the clutch 34 is disengaged from the shift lever 20. When the shift lever 20 is turned in the select direction from the predetermined shift position, the turning part 38 is turned in the counter-select direction with respect to the base part 36, and the turning quantity of the shift lever 20 to disengage the shift lever 20 from the clutch 34 can be reduced.
