METHOD FOR RETRANSMITTING DIGITAL BROADCAST SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for digitally retransmitting a satellite digital broadcast signal via a cable television broadcast network, whose transmission capacity is smaller than that of the signal by only replacing an NIT. SOLUTION: The transport streams of satellite bands 1 and 2 of satellite digital broadcast, where the band per transmission channel is 40 Mbps (Fig. 2 (a)) are respectively divided into the streams of two CATV bancs (Fig. 2 (b)), so that a program unit and the band (29 Mbps) per transmission channel of CATV broadcast are satisfied. In this case, the respective divided CATV bands 1-4 are added with EPG 1 and 2 accessory to the signals of the satellite bands 1 and 2, as they are, with merely the necessary NIT information being replaced.
