Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material for an optical recording medium applicable to a high density optical disk system using a semiconductor laser having an oscillation wavelength in a shorter wavelength, as compared with that of a conventional system, having excellent light resistance and storage stability, and to provide a recording material for a CD-R recordable and reproducible in a present system and reproducible even in a high density optical disk system of a next generation. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium comprises at least a recording layer provided directly or through an undercoating layer on a substrate. In this medium, the layer contains at least one type selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by formula (I) and/or (II) and a coordination compound of a metal compound.
