Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture a welded steel strip having no welding defects such as a double level, and an overlap of a weld at a high productivity, by keeping fluctuations in the line direction of travel or deformation to the out-of-place of the carrying surface smaller, centering on the side guide of the steel strip in the standard side owing to an edge wave undulation when a steel strip is abutted in the width direction and is continuously welded in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: The steel strip 1 in the standard side is guided by at least two places side guides 6a, 6b for which wave length of the edge wave undulation or an integral multiples clearance is open and the contact conditions are stabilized and deformation to the out-of-place of the carrying surface of the steel strip 1 in the standard side is held within the scope of no-problem to secure defect-free welds.
