PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication terminal, capable of carrying out a call at a good volume level, even if the terminal makes a radio connection in any local area. SOLUTION: A sender voice signal inputted from a transmission microphone 7 is encoded in a baseband signal processor 3 of high efficiency, via a digital volume unit 10 for adjustment of the sender voice volume. Such a gain that can cancel area difference, in particular between gain characteristics among sender voice transmission characteristics of a network facility in each local area, corresponding to each of divisions of a service are and that can provide a standard receiver sound volume at the party side, regardless of the local areas, is previously stored in a ROM 18 for volume adjustment. A controller 19, immediately after the power has been turned on, controls a radio unit 2 and the signal processor 3, in such a manner that the terminal receives a TDMA time slot signal which includes a broadcasting control channel and having the strongest electric field intensity, and reads out one of the gains, corresponding to local identification information about the broadcasting control channel from the ROM 18, and sets it in the volume unit 10.
