CARRIER TRAVELING ON PLANE AND ASCENDING/DESCENDING STEPS WHILE HOLDING SEAT FACE OR CARRIAGE OF WHEELCHAIR HORIZONTAL AND TRAVELING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure and a traveling method of a carrier capable of continuously and comfortably traveling on a plane and stably ascending/ descending steps while holding a seat face and a carriage of a wheelchair horizontal. SOLUTION: A vehicle body frame of this carrier having four wheels constructed of long wheel bodies such as crawlers is constructed of a link device of a horizontal crank mechanism. In travel on the plane, the link device is fixed, the wheel body is angled to be brought onto the ground, and an ordinary wheel attached to the tip of the wheel body is used for comfortable travel or a change of the direction. In ascending/descending the steps, the wheel body such as the crawler is tilted according to the inclination of the steps for ascending/descending. By a horizontal crank motion of the link device using a height difference between the front and rear wheel bodies, the seat face and the carriage of the wheelchair are held horizontally, and mechanically stable ascending/descending motion is carried out by a simple operation such as the horizontal crank motion locking/unlocking operation.
