Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformed plant tolerant against the stress caused by active oxygen. SOLUTION: The stress-tolerant transformed plant is obtained by transducing a gene encoding a protein selected from the group consisting of (a) a protein that is isolated from a paraquat-tolerant tobacco callus and has a specific amino acid sequence and (b) a protein that was modified by deleting, substituting or adding one amino acid or more from, in or to an amino acid sequence represented by sequence no.2 (refer to specification) and has a peroxidase activity, and a method for creating the plant is provided.
