MODULAR PLUG, AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING MODULAR CABLE TO MODULAR PLUG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a connection defective generation ratio in work of connecting modular cables to modular plugs. SOLUTION: Plural core wire insertion parts 28 formed in a housing 20 of the modular plug 10 are formed in such a way that front ends of the core wire insertion parts are opened in a front end of the housing, so that tip parts of plural core wires 14 of the modular cable 12 connected can be protruded from the front end of the housing forward. For connecting the modular cable to this modular plug, a tip part of the modular cable is inserted into a cable inserting part 26 to let the tip parts of the core wires of the modular cable protruded from the front end of the housing, and then a blade contact 22 is pressed-fit at a blade contact holding part 32 to connect the blade contact to a corresponding core wire. The tip part of the core wire protruded from the front end of the housing is then cut off.
