SOLUTION: The lenticular lens 162 of the back projection screen 16 diffuses transmitted light more widely in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction. On the projection surface A of the lenticular lens 162, a vertical diffusion sheet 18 which diffuses the transmitted light more widely in the vertical direction than in the horizontal direction is provided to obtain the back projection screen which has wide field angles not only horizontally, but also vertically. Further, the horizontal diffusion of the transmitted light by the vertical diffusion sheet is small, so a decrease in the resolution can be suppressed.
