Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent abrasion resistance to a water-resistant water- vapor-permeable composite material without the need for a protective liner. SOLUTION: This water-vapor-permeable composite material used for a garment comprises (a) a water-resistant, water-vapor-permeable flexible substrate having a first and a second sides, (b) a fabric secured to the first side of the substrate and (c) a plurality of discrete abrasion-resistant polymeric dots forming a discontinuous lining-forming pattern over the surface of the second side of the substrate and resistant to abrasion of the flexible substrate. It is preferable that the dots have a substantially smooth non-angular external surface and each of the dots has a cross-section in the plane of the substrate which is substantially circular and substantially part-spherical in a plane normal to the substrate.
