Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily generating an image having a large degree of smoothing. SOLUTION: An original image to be smoothed is contracted, by lowering its resolution to generate contracted images (images A and B). Next, the images A and B are respectively enlarged to the resolution before contraction to generate enlarged images (images A' and B'). These images A' and B' are then α-composited to generate a smoothed image. The images A and B are further contracted by reducing their resolution to generate contracted images (images C-F). The images C-F are then enlarged successively in the order, and α- composited, thereby an image of a larger degree of smoothness is generated.
