SOLUTION: There are provided an arc tube 4 in which a discharge gas is sealed in, and a coil 6 which, provided outside the arc tube 4, supplies an electric power to the discharge space in the arc tube 4. Inside the arc tube 4, a vessel 11 is provided which has an opening part 11a and a start-up assisting agent 10 is provided inside.
