Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an inspection device for display panel by using a fluorescent lamp and a light control plate for a backlight of an illumination inspecting device, and to provide an inspection method which uses an autonomous light control plate. SOLUTION: The inspection device for display panel has a support structure part to which a display panel to be inspected is installed, a light source, and a light control plate which has such characteristics as modulates a light transmission characteristics according to intensity of an incident light and which is provided between the support structure part and the light source. After the emitted from the light source is made to pass the light control plate, it is made incident on the display panel provided at the support structure part.
