COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, TELEPHONE EXCHANGE AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set, using a simple process, an operating key for executing many operating functions for use. SOLUTION: An exchange 2 communicates with cordless telephones 4 via a base station 3. Upon the receipt of a service function request message from a cordless telephone 3, the exchange 2 transmits a service function identifier, corresponding to the request message to the cordless telephone. The cordless telephone 3 reads a service function name and an operating key name, corresponding to the service function identifier from its contained memory and indicates them on its indicator. An operating key, corresponding to the operating key name, is operated on a control part of the telephone 4 so as to request the exchange 2 for corresponding service.
