PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain processing performance of a communication apparatus at a high level and make it bear a high load. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 comprises a communication processor 12 for executing various provided communication functions, a communication traffic measuring unit 13 for measuring the communication data quantity in communication processes executed by the processor 12, a controller 11 for commonly control units and a processing performance measuring unit 14 for measuring the processing performance of the common controller 11. The performance measuring unit 14 instructs the controller 11, to increase the communication traffic measuring time intervals of the traffic measuring unit 13, if detecting a processing performance exceeding a traffic measuring time interval control threshold held by itself, as the communication process becomes a high load, while the traffic measuring unit 13 is measuring traffic data with short time intervals.
