Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of multipliers having large circuit scales in an ACC circuit and a saturation control circuit. SOLUTION: A method for controlling a digital ACC circuit, that is provided with a multiplier for multiplying an input color signal including a color reference signal by a multiplication coefficient, a color demodulation part for inputting an output from the multiplier and a digital ACC part for outputting the multiplication coefficient to the multiplier so that the color reference signal in the color-demodulated signal becomes a previously determined level, consists of a 1st multiplication step for inputting a chrominance signal and the ACC multiplication coefficient to the multiplier and obtaining a multiplication result, a 2nd multiplication step for inputting the ACC multiplication coefficient and saturation control data for further changing the previously determined level to the multiplier and storing the multiplication result in a register and a 3rd step for inputting the chrominance signal and the multiplication result stored in the register to the multiplier and obtaining a multiplication result. The 1st multiplication step is executed in the color reference signal period of an input chrominance signal, and after the completing of the period, the 2nd multiplication step is executed and then the 3rd multiplication step is executed.
