PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which a small-sized, magnetic two-component developing unit using a small-diameter magnetic roll can use a variety of developers, including developers whose carrier is difficult to attach to a photoreceptor drum and whose fluidity is relatively unsatisfactory. SOLUTION: The gap between the magnetic roll 3 and the photoreceptor drum 5 is set in the range of 0.2 to 0.5 mm. The gap between the magnetic roll 3 and a nap cutting blade 4 for restricting nap of developer 1 is set in the range of 0.1 to 0.6 mm. One of opposite magnetic poles is disposed ahead of the nap cutting blade 4 and the other is disposed behind the blade 4. A peak of each magnetic force is 1 mm to 10 mm away from the blade 4 along the surface of the magnetic roll 3. The upstream magnetic force is made weaker than the downstream magnetic force.
