Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory material spraying apparatus and a refractory material spraying method in which an amount of spraying can be controlled in response to an adhered state of the spraying material, its rebound loss can be reduced, and a thickness of a worked member can be made constant. SOLUTION: There is provided a spraying apparatus comprising a running boggie 4 which can freely run; a lateral running boggie 7 which can run in a direction substantially perpendicular to a running direction of the running boggie; a lift frame 13 arranged at the lateral running boggie 7 in such a way that it can be turned and ascended or descended; a material supplying pipe 19 fixed to the lift frame; and a spraying nozzle 23 for discharging sprayed material supplied by the material supplying pipe. A distance meter 40 is arranged one by one at both sides in a moving direction of the spraying nozzle with the spraying nozzle being held. The spraying operation is carried out while a position of the spraying nozzle is being automatically controlled in response to a measured value measured by the distance meter, in such a way that a distance between the spraying nozzle and a repaired surface may become constant under application of this spraying apparatus.
