Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for imparting an excellent outdoor weathering stability and flame-retardant characteristics to thermoplastic polymers, particularly polyolefins. SOLUTION: The additive is a combination of (b) one or more flame- retardants selected from (b1) a melamine based flame-retardant and/or an ammonium polyphosphate, (b2) bis(hexa-chlorocyclopentadieno)cyclooctane, (b3) tris(2,3- dibromopropyl)isocyanurate, (b4) ethylene-bis-tetrabromophthalimide, (b5) 1,2,5,6,9,10-hexabromocyclododecane, and (b6) ethane-1,2-bis-(pentabromophenyl) with (c) a sterically hindered amine light stabilizer of a hydrocarbyloxyamine or a hydroxyhydrocarbyloxyamine [provided that when the sterically hindered amine is a hydroxyhydrocarbyloxyamine, the flame-retardant is not (b4)]. A method for imparting weathering stability and flame retardance, and further a composition to be obtained by the method are provided. |
