APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING ELECTROLYTIC WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease load on an electrolytic cell, thereby to enhance the efficiency of the electrolytic cell and to prolong the life of an electrode in the electrolytic cell by making the cluster of a water molecule small and activating water. SOLUTION: This apparatus for generating electrolytic water has a water purifying/electrolyzing part 3 for electrolyzing water and a power source part 2 for controlling the part 3. The part 3 has a water purifying tank 26 having the upper mechanism 26a being a granular activated carbon layer containing calcium and the lower mechanism 26b provided with a fine ceramics layer 31 for removing chlorine and other toxic materials and activating water and a calcium layer 30 and the electrolytic cell 28 which is connected to the tank 26 and provided with a tubular cathode member 37 and a bar-shaped anode member 39. Alkaline ionized water and acid water are generated by making water pass through the layer 31 and the layer 30 of the mechanism 26b of the tank 26 and the mechanism 26a successively and electrolyzing the water thus purified in the cell 28.
