PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera, capable of easily forming an image to which a special photographic effect is given, such as scenes having movement, by optionally changing optical transmission characteristic, such as an image position, image magnification or image distortion at a high speed, without having to perform complicated operations. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with an imaging means 3 for obtaining image signal from the image formed through a photographic lens 1, a variable shape mirror 11, provided between the lens 1 and the means 3 and having a reflection surface deformed by the electrostatic attractive force and a plurality of electrodes controlling the shape of the reflection surface, an image pickup control means 13 controlling the imaging operation of the means 3, and a drive mean 12 driving at least a part of the electrodes, when imaging is performed by the control means 13.
