Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting method of an internal combustion engine and its accessory equipment from overspeed. SOLUTION: This method includes a process to release a lock-up function of a torque converter and start an engine brake and make a variable displacement hydraulic pump to zero process. A gear selection for a shift down is allowed only after a inquiry of a brake pressure, ground speed, a selection of the required shift, torque converter output speed. A torque converter lock-up solenoid operates or stops operating corresponding in comparison with the selected value to engage or disengage the torque converter output speed. The engine brake using a compression releasing brake system is a manual or an automatic mode and corresponds to an engine speed and protects an overspeed. The variable displacement pump is made to a zero process corresponding to the engine speed by adjusting a rotary swash plate control.
