Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS position detection device capable of calculating approximate position information based on the present air temperature, and executing GPS positioning in a short time based on the approximate position information. SOLUTION: This GPS position detection device having a function for executing the GPS positioning by using the approximate position information is equipped with a temperature sensor 1b for measuring the environmental temperature, a real-time clock 1c for clocking the month, the date and the time, an air temperature database 1d of each region wherein at least the temperatures corresponding to each month and date in each region classified plurally and position information of the regions are preserved, and a GPS positioning operation processing part A for retrieving the nearest region to the environmental temperature measured by the temperature sensor on reference to the air temperature database of each region based on clocking by the real-time clock 1c when receiving a GPS positioning command, and specifying the position information of the retrieved region as the approximate position information, to thereby execute the GPS positioning.
