Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary cell having a high capacity and excellent ability of rapid charging and discharging, which is obtained by finding a graphite material having a large capacity of lithium occlusion and release and a method of manufacturing it. SOLUTION: The graphite material is characterized in that at least a part of β site carbons in the plane of hexagonal network of the graphite structure is substituted by boron.
