METHOD FOR SETTING USE OF COMPRESSION METHOD IN PACKET SWITCH MOBILE SYSTEM AND TERMINAL FOR THE MOBILE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method and a device to provide an opportunity of effecting setting of a compression method to a user of a mobile station of a mobile system. SOLUTION: The mobile system is provided with a mobile station UE to which a characteristic parameter including at least a compression method supported by the UE is designated and a wireless network UTRAN whose function entity is configured to set the compression method to a wireless bearer. The use of the compression method in the wireless bearer of the UE is designated on the basis of the characteristic parameter sent by the UE. A user USER of the UE updates a parameter to designate the compression method and the characteristic parameter of the UE is revised by this update (400), transmitted to the function entity provided with the wireless network (402) and used to set the use of the compression method to the wireless bearer of the UE at the same time.
