PROGRAM RELATED INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM USING PROGRAM SPECIFICATION IDENTIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for enabling a broadcasting station to provide additional information in relation to a scene included in a broadcast program at a low cost and for enabling a user to easily acquire the additional information. SOLUTION: This program related information providing system is further provided with an information providing device for storing the additional information in relation to programs and providing the additional information in response to a request from the user of a receiver in a program broadcasting system comprising broadcast equipment for broadcasting the programs and the receiver for receiving the programs. The broadcast equipment transmits a program identification identifier for specifying a program in broadcasting the program, the receiver transmits an additional information request including the program specification identifier for specifying the program and information for specifying a designated scene to the information providing device in receiving the designation of the scene whose additional information, by the user, desired to be acquired from the user within the received program, and the information providing device transmits corresponding additional information to the receiver in response to the received additional information request.
