METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOVING IMAGE SEARCH PROCESSING AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of searching a moving image for a user to find out a required scene for a more short time, without being forced to com pare many moving image searching screens. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of monitoring a motion vector between images by the frame upon input of a bit stream of a moving images thereby relatively evaluating the vector by the image; and a step of normally executing following steps or displaying an image for a prolonged image display time, when the motion vector evaluation is high (there are more movements), or omitting or shortening the image display to filter the moving image information quantity, thereby holding the information quantity with the motion vector, i.e., the motion in the moving image constant, if the motion vector evaluation is low.
