CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SAN-CIPHERING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on a user/manager of a SAN by reinforcing the security of ciphering. SOLUTION: SAN adapters 4/6 are installed at the entrance and exit of the SAN 5, manages a ciphering key, a deciphering key and the other information required for ciphering and controls ciphering/deciphering at the entrance and exit of the SAN 5 for controlling equipment to decipher only transfer data on the SAN 5, and to avoid ciphering of data recorded in a storage 7. A manager 1 manages the adapter 4 and the adapter 6 unitarily via a control network 2, without managing the ciphering key, the deciphering key or other information required for ciphering and manages information showing the connecting situation of a master device 3, the storage 7 and the SAN adapters 4/6 and the need for ciphering to enable the SAN adapters 4/6 to recognize a path which cannot be ciphered or does not need deciphering.
