BUILDING OR SURFACE STRUCTURE OF BUILDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building or a surface structure of a building material capable of effectively preventing water containing dirt from being dried in a part substantially parallel to the ground surface of a building to cause adhesion of dirt, properly using hydrophilic action and water repellent action in each part requiring an antifouling property, and effectively antifouling property by combined use so as to attain good antifouling effect and self-cleaning effect. SOLUTION: In the building or building material having a part A substantially vertical to the ground surface C and a part B substantially parallel thereto, a material layer having water repellency and/or oil repellency is provided on the surface of the substantially parallel part. According to a preferred embodiment, material having antifouling action such as material having hydrophilic action or a photocatalyst action is provided on the surface of the substantially vertical part, and in the case where there is provided a part inclined to the ground surface, a material having antifouling action is provided on the surface of the inclined part as well.
